EAST PORTLEMOUTH
The East Portlemouth side of the Salcombe Harbour boasts a number of small coves that are all accessible by foot along the waterfront.
A very popular ferry service runs from Salcombe town centre throughout the year. If you continue to walk around the coast you can easily join the coastal footpath which will lead you to more coves and eventually the Start Point lighthouse.
Perfect for beach combing and walking along the shoreline collecting everything from driftwood and dried seaweed, to beautiful shells and weathered pebbles.

NORTH SANDS
North Sands is walking distance of Salcombe and is lovely and sheltered.
There is ample parking at North Sands but at high tide there is no beach!

GARA ROCK
A scenic walk around the South West Coast Path from East Portlemouth lies the pretty Gara Rock beach. Incredibly picturesque with golden sand and uninterrupted views out to sea, which can be accessed by boat.
The Gara Rock Hotel overlooks the beach and offers good food and drink.  A great stop off on a thirsty walk!
Access from the coast path is possible but is steep in places.  Nearest parking is at Mill Bay, 2 miles away
