Sailfunk charter experiences are designed to allow you to be as involved in the sailing as you want to be or Sailfunk will do all the hard work – it’s entirely up to you.

Sail with Brunch or Lunch
Enjoy a relaxing day aboard as we leave Normandy pontoon to venture out to sea and enjoy a deli-style lunch at anchor in Hope Cove or Starhole Bay. We’ll take the dinghy with us so you can have some fun on the water and run up and explore the beaches. Simply sling the hammock up and watch the world go by. Anchor in Sunny Cove and take a swim in the azure blue waters. This is a great day out on your own, as a couple, or with a group of friends. If there are 8 people in your group you have an exclusive, private yacht to yourselves! What better way is there to celebrate a special occasion – a birthday, anniversary or simply as a special treat as part of your family holiday.

Salcombe Gin School, is the ultimate gin experience for the curious gin lover. At the outstanding distilling laboratory for adults, you will take charge of a beautiful copper mini-still to develop and distil your very own 70cl bottle of gin.
Under the guidance of one of our distillers, you will learn about the art of distillation and what it takes to produce a well-balanced and harmonious gin, whilst enjoying a Salcombe & Tonic or two… the perfect way to learn!

Salcombe Sailing offers 6.25m and 8m red ribs that go seriously fast on the high seas! The Ribquests are excellent for high-speed 007 style rib rides and are perfect for water-skiing, wakeboarding, and banana riding behind.

This Salcombe Yawl is simply rigged with furling jib and ideal for a family or just a couple. Complete with aux outboard engine, 10 foot rowing tender, cruising & racing sails, mooring & life jackets.
Sailing tuition also available by the day or half day in a traditional Salcombe Yawl Y27 or just be taken for a leisurely sail around the harbour in safe hands.

WHITESTRAND BOAT HIRE, MACKREL FISHING
Booking agents for two hour mackerel fishing trips on the skippered boat Illusion. Trips run up to four times per day from Easter through to October half-term.
The maximum number of passengers is 10, so advanced booking is advisable.
Please note all trips are weather dependent and the skipper’s decision is final.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding
SUP is as popular now as kayaking and Sailing here in Salcombe. The half day taster session and tours are run by qualified BSUPA coaches these fun and informative sessions will set you up with all basic techniques and safety considerations to enjoy this fantastically fun and healthy sport.
The SUP shop can offer you advice and retail on general purpose, touring, racing and surf boards with a wide selection of paddles SUP equipment and wetsuits, brands such as Starboard, Red paddle and Circle one compliment each other very well, so there is a board and paddle for everyone’s needs and budgets from epoxy to inflatable boards.
SALCOMBE DINGHY SAILING
Sailing is a fantastic and diverse sport, with activities to suit everyone. The RYA National Sailing Scheme has been designed to help you enjoy whichever aspect of the sport that appeals to you. All the courses in the Scheme can be taken in a dinghy or keelboat so you can have tuition in whatever type of boat you wish.

Hire A Dinghy
Boat hire brings you freedom and truly special holiday memories of secret coves, seal spotting and slowing down for a while in stunning surroundings. Salcombe Dinghy Sailing have got three types of boats available: Laser Pico’s Wayfarers and Drascombe Luggers. All boats are lovingly well-serviced and maintained. They are superbly equipped with buoyancy aids, charts, dry bag(s) and emergency equipment.
Salcombe Dinghy Sailing are on the water all day and will always try to help where possible, even towing to a better sailing area if conditions change.
Whether it be sit-on-tops, canoes or sea kayaks Singing Paddles offer 2 hour sessions taking tours of the local estuaries in search of local wildlife, learning paddling skills and playing games. When the tide is right, groups can take an evening paddle on the estuary. The trips are ideal for birthdays, staff training, group away days and reunions or just a relaxing day paddling in the sun.
SEA n SHORE
A family run water sports business established from their love of outdoor water based activities and education; whose mission is to be a one stop shop for your boating and hospitality. The customer is Sea n Shore’s second priority as safety is always their first. Power Training School, Rib Charters, Wake-board and Water-Ski, Water Sports, Coasteering, Hen and Stag parties and much more.
Minimum of 8 people required for this trip.
Sea n Shore offer a relaxing slow rib trip from Salcombe Whitestrand Pontoon to The Crabshell Inn in Kingsbridge. Either order your drinks and meals before you arrive or choose as we start off and we can phone your order through. Sea n Shore get you kitted up in full warm waterproofs and lifejackets and brief you on safety. Sea n Shore then take you on a gentle boat trip for around 45 minutes up to Kingsbridge where your drinks and dinner will be waiting for you. The trip with Sea N Shore does not cover the cost of your drink and meal at the Crabshell, that is payable after your meal to them. Kingsbridge is only accessible for 2 hours before and 2 hours after every high tide. Therefore we have to plan each trip as bespoke and the trip can only go in the early evenings and be back before dark.
The trip in total, including your meal at The Crabshell, lasts around 3 hours. When there is a high tide at around 5-6pm, this usually is the best times to go, thus leaving for example at 5pm and back by 8pm.
Coasteering is a unique adventure sport where you experience the exhilaration of sea level traversing, rock climbing, cliff jumping and swimming in to sea caves without the aid of boats, surf boards or other craft. Coasteering in Salcombe is for half a day and lasts approximately 3 hours. Sessions start at 9.30am or 1.30pm. Location is Start Point Lighthouse carpark,TQ7 2ET, approximately a 45 min drive from Salcombe. You will be asked to make your way there and meet in the carpark. There is a car park charge.
From the Start Point carpark, you will walk for around 30 mins over 4 fields down to the coast path where you will then be instructed into the coasteering activity to then start rock climbing, swimming, exploring caves and gullies and lots and lots of jumps.
Half day sessions available with 8 or more customers booked in, and instructor(s) are available. There is one instructor for 8 customers and all participants must be able to swim competently and in good health. It is the law that anyone under the age of 18 years old has to be accompanied on the activity with a parent or guardian. One parent can take up to three children.
BANANA RIDING, WAKEBOARDING & WATERSKIING
Sea-n-shore hire out a big rib for wake boarding, water skiing and banana riding per hour. This includes up to 10 people, 1 skipper, 1 instructor, and equipment listed on website. Pick up is in Salcombe and then a 15 min journey out of the harbour to the location. The hour doesn’t start until at location. The logistics of ski lessons is always weather dependent but there is usually a suitable location out of the wind. When individuals want to ski/wakeboard for the first time allow around half an hour each.
The most common thing Sea n Shore do out of Salcombe is group banana rides and games where the 6 man banana is used with 10 individuals and the hour is divided up equally so everyone has rides and games. Cost is divided between the 10, or however many people there are.
Whether they be on land & beach or on the water, the photographic treasure hunt has been carefully developed to entertain you, get you to know Salcombe town and beaches, ferrymen, RNLI crew, engage with the local wildlife, flora, fauna and locals. In teams you get a list of quests to take photos of you and your team doing some hilarious tasks around Salcombe. You are given instructions to make a special environmentally friendly small raft with points awarded for style, sailability etc. At the end of the quest you will all get together for points allocation. The photos and the raft race points are adde and everyone gets awarded with a great prize plus the winning team all get an addition prize. This is an ideal activity for groups who want an inexpensive activity that is weatherproof, full of laughs and you get to take some fantastic memories and group photos home as well.
We adapt every day around your requests, for example a pirate themed treasure hunt, or maybe more time on the beaches, or maybe for the more athletic we adapt it to have a lot more physical challenges involved. The most popular is simply bimbling around town, getting to know the endearing features and characters of our amazing town and beaches. This adventure has lead us to see, and for you to keep in the photos you take away some really hilarious poses and snaps that will make you chuckle for years, trust us.
SALCOMBE SHOOTING SCHOOL
Whether you are a ‘new-comer’ to the sport, a regular shot or just needing to fine tune your skills, Salcombe Shooting School will look after your needs. All beginner lessons will cover safe gun handling, etiquette and the basic skills needed to successfully hit different targets. For the more experienced Gun, we offer expert advice to address a specific problem.
Practice. The School’s Sporting Layout offers a complete range of targets from driven clays, using the ground’s natural valley, interesting and challenging crossers and the ever popular ‘rabbit trap’!
For a special event, Clay Pigeon Shooting is suitable for everyone, regardless of their ability or experience. Office Parties, Christmas Parties, Stag & Hen Parties or just a group of friends down for the weekend. Various options available, depending on numbers, time and cost.
Hampers can be served on Sea n Shore ribs or in a fantastic location, which is open to the public but is very quiet. Laden with large wicker baskets, ginham table clothes, napkins, champagne flutes, plates and cutlery. Depending on whether you choose the lunch option or the afternoon tea, inside the baskets are scrumptious locally sourced produce. Devon cream tea and bubbles include homemade enormous Devon scones, Devon clotted cream, big pots of strawberry jam, homemade enormous luxury chocolate brownies, huge bowls of strawberries, raspberry and blackcurrant liquors and ice cold prosecco. All the laying out and clearing up is done for you, glasses can also be continually topped up so you can have a really special time with your friends and family.
